So, this morning, Robert Goodin was kind enough to run a cover I did on his awesome comic book cover blog, Covered. For the time being, if you want to see my cover, go there, but I’ll post it here in a few days. I want to make sure that Covered gets the traffic for now. It’s an great concept for a blog and there is tons of awesome work over there, so check it out.
BUT! Maybe you already know all of that and that’s why you’re here now. If that’s the case, please check out my comics, and feel free to use the contact info on the left to get in touch.

So, school is back in full mutha-effin’ swing, me and the lady are trying to get some wedding stuff together and I’ve got a shit ton of comics to get done, so I haven’t really be posting up a storm. But class has been awesome so far, and I scored a few teaching gigs to help pay for the wedding, so hopefully the comics ‘ll come along. In any case, here are some more pencils from the horror story:

I promise there is more to it than some jerk in a suit. Also, image uploading issue, FIXED!

I’ve mostly been doing homework and paperwork type work for the last day or two, so I don’t have a ton of non-spoiler type panels to show, but here are some pencils from a panel in the horror comic:

Scary, huh!? I’m not sure if those are final FINAL pencils. I think the faces could be a bit clearer. Also, I don’t know if the room they are in is light or dark, so I might have to add in a ton of sweet moody horror shadows. But I’m pretty happy with it so far. Anyway, once it’s inked I’ll post the final panel.

A few more prep sketches for the horror comic. A marine and a dude in a suit. Terrifying, I know. Hopefully next post, I”ll have some work on the actual pages to post. It will be chilling, for sure.

So, the other day, I got in a fight with my boss. She said that this was the best Blondie song, and I said this was. It was actually a huge fight, and I don’t know if my job is waiting for me on Tuesday. Also, I might have looked like a racist, because I kinda forgot it’s MLK Day on Monday…
Anyway, in honor of that Blondie song that I like but don’t think is the best, here are two versions of a gray tone test I worked on a bit today. These were drawn in Photoshop super quick for reference in the horror story I’m working on. It’s the same room, but with two views. One from in the closet and one from not in the closet.

These aren’t really refined drawings, but the comic is going to be black and white, so these are just sorta tests for different ways to play with some gray tones. I’m thinking of just using white, 25%, 50%, 75% and black in the finished art.
That’s it for now.

So, it’s been a little while since I’ve posted. Mostly, I was taking a break from working on comics to catch up on video games during the holiday break, (Lots of this and this, and a bit of this and this). BUT! Then, about a week ago I had a huge problem with my blog engine. It’s still not sorted out, but I found a work around…
Anyway, the photo above is one of the sweet X-Mas presents my family got Courtney and me this year. It’s a bottle of Dan Aykroyd’s Crystal Head Vodka, signed by The Ayk himself! I can’t wait to harness it’s dark powers. It’s pretty sweet, and BONUS! It actually goes well with my other Aykroyd signature merch (This and this). If you ever see me, ask me to tell you the story behind all those signatures. It’s a good one.
BUT! Since, it’s like already two weeks into the 10’s, I can’t spend all my time partaking of paranormally distilled imported spirits. I actually got a little bit of work done on a new comic. I’m taking a little time off from the Dr. Comic to work on a horror story for an anthology that some friends of mine are putting together. I don’t want to give too much away, but here is once of the sketches I’ve done. It’s supposed to be a World War II US Marine, and while I’m O.K. with the sketch, I sorta flubbed the helmet, so it looks too much like a conquistador. And everyone knows that conquistadors are not cool at all!

But I guess that’s it so far. I’m thinking of doing a My-Favorite-Comics-of-the-Decade type post, maybe later tonight. And I’ll post more work once school gets rolling again.
